A Piece of the Action
Definition of a Line Segment

So a real line goes on forever in both directions.

 That's pretty big.

Most of the time, we don't need the whole line.
We just need a little piece of it ...

We call this piece of the line a LINE SEGMENT.
Most of the time we also want to talk about
the ends of the line segment.

 Instead of saying stuff like:
"The end of the line segment on the left"
we put points with labels on the ends of the segments.

Then we can just say "Point A."
